Bandwagon Partners with Africa Rising International Film Festival to Use Proprietary Blockchain Tech to Connect Film-Makers and Audiences
GREENVILLE, S.C. – Bandwagon, a fan analytics company that helps events and venues better understand who’s showing up to increase fan engagement is partnering with the inaugural Africa Rising International Film Festival (ARIFF).
South African based ARIFF will host its first annual film festival (November 26 th – 29 th , 2018) which will run as a pre-event to the SA Global Citizen X Mandela 100 Festival in honor of Nelson Mandela & Albertina Sisulu’s Centennial.
In an effort to facilitate global conversations about how Africa is rising dynamically, through film, ARIFF will use technology to shine a spotlight on the craft of story-telling from the continent and the diaspora. In addition, the festival will treat their audience to a digital lab, where festival attendees will experience Virtual Reality screenings and leisure over Web Series content.
With technology playing an increasingly more important role in the film industry in everything from financing to distribution, Bandwagon’s proprietary Blockchain technology will work in conjunction with ARIFF’s ticketing partner, Howler, to gather and analyze data on their festival audience. Bandwagon will also analyze social media data to help ARIFF better understand their global audience to create a lasting relationship between the festival, the filmmakers/talent and their audiences.
“Our mission is to bridge the gap between Africa and the World using new age technology and mediums to connect film-makers and their audiences,” says Mandisa Vundla, ARIFF Project Manager “and Bandwagon’s fan analytics technology and activations is the ideal way to foster that sense of community and engagement between those two worlds.”
Tickets for the inaugural Africa Rising Film Festival will go on sale November 7 th along with several joint fan activations to spur ticket sales.
BANDWAGON tracks qualitative customer data for ticketed events through a proprietary blockchain database that monitors each ticket transaction. Event owners can track the economics of each ticket and stay informed of the end user who ultimately attends the event. BANDWAGON is a technology startup with investment from Blue Vista Ventures and the Black Angel Tech Fund and is growing with support from the Founder Institute Incubator and the Capital Factory Accelerator.
